How To Bid On

You are welcome to browse the site catalogs as a guest. However, to bid on items and/or use our Watchlist, you must register as a Buyer.  This is different than signing up for the Newsletter.

Please Click Below to register.

After you register, check your email for a confirmation email and follow the instructions contained in the email. They will walk you through creating the unique password for your account. If you do not see the confirmation email in your Inbox, check your SPAM/JUNK folder.

After completing the registration process, you will be able to browse the site, bid on items, and use our Watchlist.

Hover your mouse over the AUCTIONS menu button, the drop-down menu will give you several choices. Select CURRENT AUCTIONS. You can also click on the hamburger menu (three bars), to display your menu choices, and click on CURRENT AUCTIONS.

CURRENT AUCTIONS are open to bidding right now.

Each item in the Auction has a “Start Time” and an “End Time.” That is considered the “Bidding Window.” The “End Times” for all items in the Current Auction, close like a series of dominoes, in 1-minute increments. That way, you can follow items as they close.

You can bid at any point during our timed auctions’ bidding windows. There is no bidding past the “close time.”

Please note that you are entering your bids directly online into the auction, not via email as in the past.

Placing a Bid

When you place your bid, it must be more than the current bid.  Bids on items increase in increments based on the current bid.  Those increments are done automatically by the bidding system.

As the price of the item increases so does the amount required to make the next bid. These "steps" are in defined increments.  In other words, as the value of the item goes up, the minimum amount you have to add to place the next bid also goes up.

For example, an item starting at $10, the first increment is to add five dollars to each successive bid (10 to 15 to 20... eventually 85, 90, 95, 100).  At that pace it's 18 bids to get from $10 to $100.

After the price hits $100, the bidding increases to $10 increments, until the total value is $1,000. (100, to 110, to 120... eventually 980, 990, 1000).

From $1000 the minimum bid increment is $50 until $10,000.

And so on, as noted in the "Bidding Increments" drop down tab at the bottom of Auction Pages.

Larger bids beyond the increment are always welcome.  They can also be used as "Proxy Bids."

The actual Bidding Process

  • Browse the Auction Catalog
  • Click on the item you want to bid on. That opens the item page.
  • Enter your bid and click the Submit button. You will see a pop-up asking you to confirm your bid. Review your bid and click Yes to confirm your bid.
  • After confirming your bid, you will receive a Confirmation Email. You will receive separate emails for each item you bid on.
  • If you opted in to Text Messaging, you would receive a text message confirming your bid.
  • Continue browsing the Catalog and repeat steps 2 through 5 for each item you wish to bid on.
  • Even though you should receive notification (by email and / or text) of being outbid, we encourage you to monitor your item(s) directly on the site. When the auction is close to closing, bidding may happen quickly. So, please don’t rely on emails as they may sometimes be delayed.

Bidding Strategy

Many bidders place a bid early in the week to find out if there is anyone else bidding on the item they are interested in. Other bidders wait until the last minute to bid, hoping to win the item in the last hour. A good strategy is to place a Max Bid. When placing a Max Bid, you place your bid as usual except you add the maximum amount you are willing to pay for the item. (see example below)

Example of a Max Bid: You bid $20.00 with a max bid of $25.00. If someone bids $21.00, we will automatically raise your bid, in increments, until your bid is the high bid. This will protect your bid against last minute bidders.

Payment Options

Domestic Payments: Wire Transfer - Bank to Bank (we will provide wire transfer information on all large purchases), PayPal payments up to $1,000.00, and Credit Cards are accepted (through verified PayPal addresses only). Money orders and Cashier’s Checks are accepted (checks must have “Cashier’s Check” printed on the face of the check). We do not absorb any fees charged by banks, credit card companies, shipping companies, customs, etc.

International Payments: We now accept PayPal on items under $500.00. Items over $500.00 must be paid by wire transfer - bank to bank. It is fast, safe, and easy.

Shipping Costs

Shipping costs paid by the winning bidder unless otherwise stated in the listing.  In the case of international shipments, Customs, Duty bank, shipping, and other fees or charges resulting from an International Shipment, are the sole responsibility of the Buyer.

It is the responsibility of the buyer to return the item to the seller to receive a refund. We can’t refund money until the item is received by the seller. When the item is received by the seller in the same condition it was sent, the buyer will receive a refund for the purchase price and shipping cost, if the seller shipped the item. If you try to fix or alter an item you receive, it is automatically considered accepted and your payment will be released to the seller. Please be sure to contact us for authorization before returning any item to the seller. If the item is returned without authorization, the sender is responsible for any and all additional costs (if any) related to the return shipment. Shipping costs on items returned are not refundable since that money has already been paid to the shipping company, we do not have it to return. However, the full price paid for the item will be returned less any Banking or PayPal fees.

Reasons for which you CAN NOT return items are:

  • You do not like the item
  • You do not like the manufacturer’s quality
  • You made a mistake and bid on the wrong item

Keep in mind that items can always be re-listed and sold to someone else who may not share your opinion.
